发明名称 Improvements in or relating to aerating machines
摘要 393,850. Concentrating ores. FAIR. WEATHER, H. G. C., 65, Chancery Lane, London.-(Fagergren, W. ; c/o Lundin & May Foundry Co., Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A.) Nov. 4, 1932, No. 31171. [Class 82 (ii).] An aerating-machine for use in the flotation concentration of ores comprises a chamber containing an aerating device which consists of a vertical cage rotatable about a substantially vertical axis and formed of staves preferably having a circular, pentagonal, or similar cross section defining spaces between them which converge from the inside to a constricted point and then diverge, and a stationary outside cage or grille at least partially surrounding the rotary cage. An aeration chamber with a false bottom 32, Fig. 2, contains a stationary cylindrical cage formed of staves 30, 31 preferably hollow and of circular cross section secured'at their lower ends to the false bottom 32 and with their upper ends fastened into a rim 34 which supports a conical hood 35. Inside the stationary cage rotates an impeller 20 formed with upper and lower propellershaped spiders 78, 80 provided with rims in which are mounted staves 25 of circular cross section. The feed, e.g. the tailings from a previous machine, passes down the feed inlet 38 into the channel 36 between the false bottom 32 and the true bottom 37, and rises into the chamber through an aperture 54 situated in the false bottom directly below the impeller. The propeller-shaped spider 80 draws the pulp up into the impeller and the propeller-shaped spider 78 draws air down through the hood 35, the pulp and air being mixed in the impeller and forced outward between the staves 25 and then Between the staves 30, 31 of the stationary cage. Froth formed passes over side lips into froth launders and the tailings pass through an aperture 50 either to the next machine or to discharge. Some of the hollow staves 30 of the stationary cage extend upward through the rim 34 and are formed so that some of the pulp passes down the staves into the space 36 and rises again into the impeller, the recirculation being controlled by an adjustable damper 53 having holes 56 registering with the openings at the tops of the staves. In the form shown in Fig. 4 the rotary cage is made to extend above the pulp level in the chamber, a cylindrical hood 35 is provided, and recirculation is effected by openings 88 in the bottom 32 of the chamber. The froth lips 83 and the tailings weir 85 are adjustable by handwheels 84, 86 respectively. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the rotary cage is situated near one end of the aeration chamber and the stationary cage is formed as a grille extending from wall to wall of the chamber on one side only of the rotary cage. Horizontal plates 90 are provided to direct the flow of the pulp in horizontal streams. Recirculation of pulp is effected and controlled by the provision of circular plates 91 which can be rotated by forked rods 93 until holes therein register with holes in the false bottom 32.
