The sound source signal identification process involves recording the source signal and then analyzing it to determine its spectrum. The recording parameter conditions are recorded and the signal analyzed to determine the energy noise base signal lines. The detected lines are compared with an assembly of signatures, and a matching signature found. An Independent claim is included for an aircraft including a device for identifying a source of a signal, the device including at least one sensor such as a microphone for identifying sound signals or an accelerometer for identifying vibration signals, and a microprocessor based signal processing and analyzing device.
