In a linear actuator of the type where an actuation rod (6) is driven by a reversible electric motor via a spindle/nut (4, 5), a jamming protection is provided, based on the spindle (4) being arranged axially movably so that a gear wheel (10) on the end thereof is disengaged from the transmission upon movement in one direction. If the actuation rod (6) is blocked in its movement, the connection between the spindle (4) and the transmission will be interrupted automatically. A spring force (13) keeps the spindle (4) engaged with the transmission in normal operation. The jamming protection is simple and operates reliably, has a minimum mounting length and also ensures that the actuation rod cannot be pulled out of engagement with the spindle nut. <IMAGE> |
