PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentrated nitric acid storage container comprising high silicon austenite cast iron at least on its internal side for receiving concentrated nitric acid, which prevents a concentration of chromium (Cr) in the concentrated nitric acid during storage and thus is excellent in storage of the concentrated nitric acid as a high purity reagent for use in semiconductor manufacturing. SOLUTION: The concentrated nitric acid storage container for storing the concentrated nitric acid has at least its internal side made of high silicon austenite cast iron and includes a means for blocking the sunlight on an external surface of the container. The means for blocking the sunlight preferably comprises a heat insulating material for covering the external surface of the container. The entire container may be made of the high silicon austenite cast iron, or only the internal side may comprise the high silicon austenite cast iron. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
