PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press machine in which a slide plate on which a movable die is mounted is pushed and pressed by using a plurality of drive sources and the slide plate can be formed while being kept in a desired positional relation to a fixed die. SOLUTION: A displacement measuring device to measure the displacement between the slide plate and a reference plate is provided in the press machine. A control means measures a position change of each drive source by the displacement measuring means every one of a plurality of operation steps during a forming operation, detects a desired displacement position of the whole of the slide plate, extracts control data including a correction amount corresponding to a change of a load to each drive source in order to keep the whole of the slide plate at the desired displacement position by making the data correspond to each drive source and stores them to a storage device, supplies the control data to each drive source and drives individually. The cycle time of actual forming can be shortened since the actual forming can be performed by using control data obtained during trial forming. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
