PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary napkin for effectively preventing the leak of menstrual blood from the peripheral part of the napkin without obstructing fitness at the time of wearing of the napkin. SOLUTION: The sanitary napkin is constituted so as to hold menstrual blood passing through a liquid permeable top sheet 3 by an absorbing element material containing an absorbable core 4 and preventing the leak thereof to the back surface of the napkin. The unit surface embossed parts 13 from the use surface of the liquid permeable top sheet 3 are formed to at least one end part Z among the front and rear end parts Z and Z of 80 mm or less from the front and rear end edges of the absorbable core 4 of the sanitary napkin at an interval of 4 mm or less and surface embossed lines 13S provided along the lines laterally extending over length ranges W and W of 10 mm or more at least left and right so as straddle the longitudinal line C of the sanitary napkin are formed and the unit surface embossed parts 13, etc., substantially come into contact with the absorbing element material to prevent the deformation of the absorbable core 4.
