<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in the conventional method of storing the recording characteristic data peculiar to a recording head in a host computer for correction for improving recording density spots caused the concern that the recording characteristic data of another recording head other than the recording head being used are inadvertently reflected from the maintenance property, the human error, or the like at the time of replacing the recording heads of the recording apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Mismatching is prevented by writing the recording characteristic data peculiar to a recording head in a memory in the recording head.
