BLISTER SIZE INSPECTION APPARATUS FOR PANEL OF CATHODE RAY TUBE

PURPOSE: A blister size inspection apparatus is provided to achieve improved reliability and accuracy of result of inspection, while reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A blister size inspection apparatus comprises a table(10) for providing a panel inspection position; an illumination unit arranged to illuminate the panel from the outside of the face of a panel(1) and project images of a blister(3); a camera(30) arranged to photograph images of the blister from the inside of the face of the panel and output image data; an orthogonal coordinate motion unit(40) for moving the illumination unit and the camera with respect to the panel; and a computer for processing, in accordance with a program, image data output from the camera. The orthogonal coordinate motion unit includes a first linear motion actuator(42) disposed on the table in an X-axis direction; a second linear motion actuator(44) disposed in a Y-axis direction in such a manner that the second linear motion actuator moves along with the first linear motion actuator; and a carriage(46) for moving the illumination unit and the camera by the second linear motion actuator.
