PURPOSE:To provide a method for printing a pile web, capable of drawing an etched pattern sharp in pattern edges on the surface of the pile web without forming a level difference on the touch of the pile web due to a difference between the fiber densities of etching agent-printed sites and etching agent- nonprinted sites. CONSTITUTION:A printing paste containing an etching agent capable of dissolving a sea component 11 and a non-etching dyestuff exhibitihg good dyeability on an island component 12 is printed on the surface 15 of a pile 16 to dissolve off the sea component 11 in the surface layer parts 15 of the plural composite synthetic fibers 13 and simultaneously dye the island component 12 without dyeing the lower part of the pile 16. The pile 16 comprises plural conjugated synthetic fibers 13 each having a cross section in which the island component 12 is divided into plural divisions with the sea component 11. One of two kinds of fiber raw materials 11, 12 different in solubilities in chemical agents is used as the sea component 11, and the other is used as the island component 12. |
