PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device capable of simultaneously improving light emitting efficiency, luminance, and a display quality at animation display time. SOLUTION: An address electrode 13 is formed along a surface of a base board 12 and a lattice-shaped barrier rib 15. A pair of electrodes 17 are translated to the side of a scanning electrode 17Y side barrier rib 15. A space between a scanning electrode 17Y and a part formed on a side surface of the barrier rib 15 of the address electrode 13 is formed as a discharge gap GB, and the discharge gap GB is arranged in a position becoming an equal interval with a discharge gap GA (GA=GB). The pair of electrodes 17 exist in an asymmetric position to the two barrier ribs 15 adjacent on both sides, and a sustaining electrode 17X does not approach at a distance shorter than the discharge gap GB even to any part of the address electrode 13.
