摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a unit and to increase capacity of it by preventing stress from concentrating on the end of the thin front side of an output disk. SOLUTION: A toroidal type continuously variable transmission has a structure in which the output cone disks 6 and 7 are rotatably supported by a needle bearing 51 on a spindle 10 while disabling stroke. A cylindrical holder 52 of the needle bearing 51 is provided with a through hole 52a near the back surfaces of the output cone disks 6 and 7 than a needle roller 53 position, strip grooves 6a and 7a are formed in the inner peripheries of the output cone disks 6 and 7 so as to face to the through hole 52a in the axial line direction, a snap ring 54 projecting out of the through hole 52a in the cylindrical holder 52 is engaged with the strip grooves 6a and 7a.
