<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of each image carrier by appropriately controlling restriction of image flow so as not to extend post-rotating time of the image carrier wastefully. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: transfer rollers 51 to 55 which transfer development materials on photoreceptor drums 11 to 14 to transfer materials P; a paper detecting means 80 which obtains information about each transfer material P; and a post-rotation extension control means 2 which controls the rotating time of each of the photoreceptor drums 11 to 14 after image formation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
