PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a light emitting element made of an organic compound having sufficient electron transporting property which hardly deteriorates the light emitting element, and to provide a light emitting element using the same. SOLUTION: The material for the light emitting element is a compound shown by the general formula (1). In the formula, R1and R2represent aryl group or heterocyclic group which may or may not have substituent, R3, R4, R5, R6represent substituent of which, at least one represents polycyclic condensed ring group or the same linked by the one group or atom chosen from vinyl group, ethynyl group, phenyl group, oxygen atom or sulfur atom, and M represents a central metal.
