<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method that allow users easily to understand all settings for general purpose input/output ports and also eliminate setting errors when the users set each of input/output ports held by a device with a plurality of the general purpose input/output ports. <P>SOLUTION: A system for setting general input/output ports has an apparatus equipped with a plurality of general input/output ports, a display means to display a plurality of types for icons I1 (1) to I1 (13), which can be moved by a pointing device and represent graphics to indicate a state of port arrays for the apparatus, as well as contents of the feasible settings for the port, and a communication means to transmit to the apparatus the information that sets the port for an array position by moving the icon corresponding to the array position within the graphics G, where one of the icon I1 is moved to the array position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
