<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for easily restoring a preceding work state, without performing a complicated operation for restoring a work state in a situation where the usage of a device is started. <P>SOLUTION: A user who uses the device carries a portable unit with a function for transmitting recognition data using radio waves. The device includes: a receiving means for receiving recognition data transmitted from the portable unit; and a storage means for storing the work state of the device. The device determines whether the user is using the device by a recognition data receiving situation. When it is considered that the user ends the usage, the device stores the work state of the device in the storage means. When it is considered that the user has started the use, the preceding work state of the device which is stored in the storage means in the device is restored.
