<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a mass-production technique capable of manufacturing with a high cycle a flexible optical disk having very low eccentricity. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the flexible optical disk comprises: a process for cutting the inner diameter hole of a disk; a process for transferring projecting and recessing parts or a pre-groove for recording information to the disk; and a process for cutting the outer diameter of the disk to the final size. Precondition for the method, comprises a process for transferring the pre-groove to a blank in the disk shape and cutting the inner diameter hole of the disk before a process for cutting the final outer diameter of the disk. After forming the inner diameter hole in the blank, the pattern is transferred to the blank with the inner diameter hole being engaged with the center post of a transfer unit for transferring the pattern, including the pre-groove or the like.
