A stabilizer system for the stabilization of halogen containing polymers comprises perchlorate salt(s) and enamine, indole derivative and/or urea, the urea may be a dimer or trimer, preferably biuret or 1,3,5-trishydroxyalkyl cyanurate. A stabilizer system for the stabilization of halogen containing polymers comprises: (A) perchlorate salt(s); and (B) enamine of formula (I), indole derivative of formula (II) and/or urea of formula (III), the urea may be a dimer or trimer, preferably biuret or 1,3,5-trishydroxyalkyl cyanurate. [Image] n : 1 or 2 and X is O or NR 1>; n : 3- 6 and X is O; R 1>H, 1-4C alkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, 6-10C aryl, 7--18C alkaryl or aralkyl; R 2> when n is 1 : 1-22C alkyl, 2-22C alkenyl or aryl, preferably phenyl, optionally having up to 3 hydroxy, 1-4C alkoxy or 1-9C alkyl substituents; R 2> when n is 2- 6 : 1-22C alkylene, optionally containing at least one O- or S- linkage whereby R 3> (for when n is 3) is optionally 2-3C alkyl tri-substituted isocyanurate, if X is NH, R 2> is optionally H; m : 0-3; R 4 and R 5H, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; R 3>1-18C alkyl, 2-18C alkenyl, 6-10C aryl, formula (IV), 7-24C alkaryl, 7-10C aralkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; Y : O, S or NH; R 6>-R 9>H, 1-18C alkyl, (substituted) by OH and/or 1-4C alkoxy, 2-18C alkenyl, 6-10C aryl, optionally substituted by up to 3 hydroxy and/or 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy groups, 7-20C alkenyl or 7-10C aralkyl and two of R 6>-R 9> may form a ring. Independent claims are included for: (1) a composition comprising a chlorine containing polymer and the stabilizer system; (2) a process for the stabilization of a chlorine containing polymer by addition of the stabilizer system; and (3) an object comprising PVC containing the stabilizer system. |
