Fast start equipment using pressurized fluid to operate a hydrostatic pump as starter motor

A hydrostatic pump (4) is driven through gears (10) by an IC engine and charges a receiver (1) through non-return valves (2,5). When charging is complete fluid is supplied at no pressure to a tank (16) through a valve (8). After a temporary shut-down the pump is connected through a discharge valve (3) to drive the pump as a motor to restart the engine.
