A viscosity change detecting element (5) comprising (a) an elastic body (16) capable of deflection elastic deformation and/or torsional elastic deformation, and (b) a movable permanent magnet (13) attached to the elastic body (16) directly or through a connecting member in such a manner as to be movable in response to the deformation of the elastic body (16), wherein part of the elastic body (16) is fixed to a support body (135) for supporting the viscosity change detecting element (5), whereby deflection elastic deformation and/or torsional elastic deformation attended by rotation and/or vibration occurs in the elastic body (16) in a rotating liquid, with the result that in response to a change in the viscosity of the liquid, the relative position of the movable permanent magnet (13) with respect to an outside detection means (6) disposed at a fixed position changes, such change in relative position being detected by the outside detection means (6), whereby the change in the viscosity of the liquid can be detected. This viscosity change detecting element is useful as an element for imparting a viscosity change detecting function to a stirring rotor, stirring device, reaction device and semiautomatic synthesizing device.
