PURPOSE: A ventilator including a heat transfer type heat exchanger is provided to allow the ventilator to be freely installed in a building without remodeling of the building like furnishings. CONSTITUTION: A ventilator includes an upright main body(16) having a heat exchange chamber(10) with fixed volume, an inside inlet(11) and an inside outlet(12) formed on an upper part and a lower part thereof, respectively, an outside inlet(13) and an outside outlet(14) formed on a rear side thereof to be connected with an outside duct unit, and separate air filtering chambers(15a,15b) connected with the heat exchange chamber; a partition(17) installed in the main body, and having cross-shaped frame structure to divide the heat exchange chamber into four separate spaces; and a plurality of heat transfer mats(18) installed using one side of the partition, and rotated by a motor(23) for heat exchange between facing air currents coming therein and thereout. Two of the separate spaces of the heat exchange chamber are formed on a front side of the partition, and the others are formed on a rear side of the partition.
