Highly parallel determination of analytes, useful e.g. for diagnostic detection of proteins, by immobilization then contacting with surface carrying specific probes

Detecting an analyte (I) in a sample by binding it to a surface; contacting this with a second surface that carries (I)-specific probes (II); separating the surfaces, and detecting any (II) transferred to the first surface, is new. Method for determining an analyte (I) in a sample by binding it to a first surface (substrate), then contacting this with a second surface (stamp) on which (I)-specific probes (II) are bound. The surfaces are separated and any (II) that has been transferred to the substrate is detected or quantified. The binding of (II) to (I), and of (I) to substrate, under an external pulling force, is more stable than the binding of (II) to the stamp. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for the method.
