An extraction cup 1 is placed on a cup 2, and a functional filter 3 is put in a body 1a of the cup 1. A predetermined amount of extraction material 4 such as coffee beans, tea or herb is put into the filter 3, and a predetermined amount of extraction liquid 5 is poured on to the extraction material 4. At first the functional filter 3 hardly permit the extraction liquid 5 to pass therethrough. When the filter 3 is heated in an electric oven, however, a thermally soluble material with which the functional filter 3 is impregnated begins to dissolve as the temperature of the extraction liquid 5 rises, so that the extraction liquid 5 passes through the functional filter 3. When the temperature reaches a level, the soluble material dissolves greatly and the extraction liquid 5 drips in large quantities. The extraction ends before a bitter or rough taste comes out, so that coffee or tea can be extracted to a constant concentration and taste by anyone.
