The speed hump is formed from a reinforced flexible membrane formed into a tube with a Dshaped cross-section, the straight portion of which, in use, lies horizontally on the ground. An adjustable valve is fitted at one end which allows air to escape from the hump at a controlled rate, with the rate of escape of the air controlling the speed at which a vehicle can be comfortably driven over the hump. The same valve or a different valve allows the quick ingress of air. The hump is secured to a road using bolts and can be removed and reused as desired. |
