The power transmission system uses a support plate which is prefabricated in a mould, using a material which is initially malleable. Conducting bars are introduced into the moulded shape, and secured in place. The moulding uses a material which is initially malleable, and provides a support which tolerates a degree of expansion when conducting bars expand. The procedure for manufacture of a power transmission system includes use of conductive bars (14A, 14B, 14C, 16) and a support plate (12). Each conductive bar passes through the support plate. The support plate is prefabricated in a mould, using a material which is initially malleable. The moulding includes orifices (20A, 20B, 20C, 22) for passage of the conductive bars. The bars are introduced into the moulded shape, and secured in place. The moulding may take place by injection of a melted material into a cavity of fixed dimensions. Alternatively the moulding may be achieved by compression of a block of malleable material between two complementary jaws, in order to define the mould. The cross-sectional shape of the bars is such that their width is at least six times their thickness. |
