<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular occupant protection device having a knee bag requiring a short time for deploying and developing, and inflating the knee bag faster than an air bag inflating in front of the upper half of the body or the face of an occupant. <P>SOLUTION: A recessed part 20 becoming a shape recessed downward in comparison with both right and left sides of an upper edge in an expanded state of the knee bag 4 is provided in a horizontal center part vicinity of the upper edge of the knee bag 4. Recessed parts 22 and 24 each becoming a shape recessed in a horizontal center side in comparison with both upper and lower sides in the expanded state of the knee bag 4 are provided in vertical center part vicinities of right and left side edges of the knee bag 4.
