METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PTFE POROUS BODY, AND PTFE POROUS BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a PTFE porous body by which the complicated shape of a mold can be imparted without cutting the body after molding. SOLUTION: The PTFE porous body which is obtained by baking the PTFE porous form manufactured by a baking/grinding process in such a state that the powder is loaded in a mold, has a specific gravity of 0.4 to 1.8. The mold and the PTFE porous form satisfy the conditions of (I) and/or (II): (I) The mold has an inner space formed of an inner wall and a protrusion part for forming a through hole connects at least two spots of the inner wall together, and/or may have irregularities on the surface. The PTFE porous body shows that the surface shape obtained without cutting is the same as the surface shape formed by the inner wall and the protrusion part for forming the through hole. (II) The mold has irregularities on the surface of the inner wall and the PTFE porous body shows that the surface form obtained by cutting is of the same shape as the described irregular surface shape.
