PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly prevent the lowering of a filtering speed or the clogging of a screen caused by the blockade of a flow channel due to the accumulation of a solid in a pipeline due to long-term filtering operation. SOLUTION: A filter device A is equipped with a filter body 1 formed by superposing a plurality of plate-shaped hollow filter members 2 having filter media 4 on the outer surfaces thereof so as to leave intervals in an up and down direction, and having filtrate discharge means provided to the center parts thereof so as to leave intervals in an up and down direction; a hollow rotary shaft 7 communicating with the filtrate discharge means and piercing the center part of the filter body 1 to be fixed thereto; and scrapers 12 for scraping off the cake-like suspended substance formed on the outer surfaces of the filter media 4. A solid-liquid separator is equipped with this filter device A and a storage tank B of water to be treated having an inflow port 25 and an outflow port 26 of water to be treated containing the suspended substance and housing the filter device A and, when the hollow filter members 2 are backward washed under pressure, the solid remaining in the hollow rotary shaft 7 is preliminarily removed.
