PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound which can efficiently decompose/remove harmful organic substances dissolved in water for environmental purification and an agent for decomposing/removing the harmful organic substances dissolved in water using the compound. SOLUTION: In the agent for decomposing/removing the organic substances in which a macrocyclic metal complex compound is supported on polymer particles, the macrocyclic metal complex compound is a metal phthalocyanine compound or a metal porphyrin compound, and the polymer particles are the agent for decomposing/removing the organic substances comprising polystyrene particles or styrene copolymer particles.
