<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a display device having current driven type light emitting elements such as EL elements in which the constitution of a driving circuit is made simpler than the conventional driving circuit and red, green and blue pixels are light emitted with proper balance in light emitting luminance. <P>SOLUTION: In a first period of one flame period, light emission of the current driven type light emitting elements in all pixels is stopped and scanning driving signals are applied to the gate electrodes of the switching transistors of the pixels in order to write video signal voltages onto the holding capacitive elements of the pixels. In a second period following the first period of the one frame period, the scanning driving signals being applied to the gate electrodes of the switching transistors of the pixels are stopped and the current driven type light emitting elements of the pixels are light-emitted in at least one light emitting period determined by the video signal voltages written into the holding capacitive elements of the pixels and the light emitting characteristic of the current driven type light emitting elements of the pixels of each color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
