PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch which is compact, has a simple structure and is easily manufactured. SOLUTION: An optical switch for switching over a transmission path of light is provided which includes a light incident part, a light emitting part, and a substrate on which a magnetostrictive material, a light reflection part, and a magnetic flux supplying part are each formed. Further, the optical switch is provided which is characterized in that the light from the light incident part is switched to the light emitting part by making use of the difference in the bending of the substrate due to the magnetic flux supply at the magnetic supply part.
