PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum positive electrode foil for electrolytic capacitor in which capacitance is enhanced while reducing leakage current. SOLUTION: After a film of valve metal oxide other than aluminum oxide is formed on a barrier type aluminum oxide film formed on the surface of an aluminum positive electrode foil 1, it is anodized in formation liquid to produce an positive electrode foil having a dielectric film 4 consisting of a barrier type aluminum oxide layer 2 and a mixture layer 3 of aluminum oxide and a valve metal oxide (other than aluminum oxide).
