<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam splitter having small polarization dependent loss (PDL). <P>SOLUTION: The beam splitter includes a split device (60) receiving a first incident beam (40) on a first surface (60A) by making an angleαto a light axis. A first part (70) of the first incident beam (40) is reflected at the angleαto the light axis on the contrary side to the first incident beam. A second beam (80) transmits the split device (60).
