<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily cool paper after thermal fixing under, in a high speed image forming device in which toner is melt-stuck to paper by a thermal fixing unit. <P>SOLUTION: A paper cooling unit 10 of an air cooling system is disposed between the thermal fixing unit and a heat pipe. The paper cooling unit has an axial flow fan 1 for supplying air under pressure, which is mounted in the leading end of a cooling duct 11A. The duct 11A is constituted by connecting, in the following order, an introducing duct 2, a blow duct 3, and an exhaust duct 4 through which air after cooling paper is discharged. The blow duct 3 is composed of an upper duct 3a and a lower duct 3b, and paper is passed through a paper passage 3c formed between the upper and lower ducts. In the duct 11A, cooling air from the axial flow fan flows in the longitudinal direction of the duct 11A, that is, toward the exhaust duct. Adding the paper cooling device solves a problem of the prior art, such as causing sheets of paper to adhere to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
