<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable positional control of a permanent magnet type synchronous motor to be performed, even if a position detector is not prepared. <P>SOLUTION: A control device comprises a position estimating unit, that estimates the position of a rotor of the permanent magnet type synchronous motor using a current flowing to the permanent magnet type synchronous motor, and a position control unit that makes the output of the position estimating unit follow to a command position. The control device inputs an armature current and an input voltage of the permanent magnet type synchronous motor, outputs a control signal to a power converter so that a high-frequency current is superposed on the armature current of the permanent magnet type synchronous motor, and outputs the estimated position of the permanent magnet type synchronous motor to the position control unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
