PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make charging simple while preventing an unusual voltage rise in multistage constant-current charging of a secondary battery, by appropriately making transition to the charging of the last stage, while finding a standard for the last stage charging but one in the voltage of the secondary battery. SOLUTION: The transition of the charging of the last stage makes it a turning point that a charged-amount accumulation valueΣQ after starting the charging exceeds the value, in which a fixed charged amount Q<SB>0</SB>is subtracted from a volume controlled charged amount x×P that is obtained by multiplying a discharged amount P discharged before the charging by a predetermined coefficient x.
