<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for cables, in which operation force can be set small with a sure operation, even when there are many core wires of the cable while raising the reliability of connection. <P>SOLUTION: The connection between a contact 13 and the cable 11 is obtained by pressing an opposite face of the cable 11, of which the one face faces a contact part 15 of the contact 13, toward the contact part by a rotating operator component 34. At least two contact side projections 15a are prepared in the contact part. On the other hand, an operator-component side projection 34a is prepared in the operator component. At the time of connecting the cable, the operator component side projection counters between contact side projection through the cable and gets engaged with the contact side projection.
