PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a monitoring system wherein devices can be easily dispersed by using a general purpose network and which can reduce a network load. SOLUTION: This monitoring system monitors a monitoring area and records image thereof by using a sensor and a monitoring camera. The monitor system is provided with a monitor device which is arranged in the monitoring area, collects the variety of information of the monitoring area from the sensor and the monitoring camera and transmits event information through the network when the event generates, a log server which receives and manages the event information, and a computer for monitoring which receives the list of the event information from the log server through the network and acquires the image information photographed by the monitoring camera from the monitor device through the network as required.
