PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the backlash of a shutter member when the shutter member is in a closed position, in a medium cartridge having the shutter member. SOLUTION: An elastic member 7 provided between upper and lower shell halves is made in an approximately M shape which includes an engagement part 7a that is engaged with an engagement part 6a of the shutter member 6 to lock the shutter member 6, and which energizes by a spring the shutter member 6 in the direction approximately perpendicular to the moving direction when the shutter member 6 is in the closed position. The backlash of the shutter member 6 is suppressed by always energizing by the spring the shutter member 6 in the direction approximately perpendicular to the moving direction when the shutter member 6 is in the closed position.
