PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head which is capable of reducing damage for each part due to a contact with a recording medium. SOLUTION: A magnetic head H is constituted with a substrate 6, a coil 3 created on this substrate 6 for generating a magnetic field, a dielectric film 7 created on the substrate 6 to cover this coil 3 and facing a recording medium D, located closer to the center of the substrate 6 than a perimetral edge 6a of the substrate 6 and has a contact part 70b' which can contact the recording medium D if the recording medium D is inclined, and is configured to prevent the contact between the part further from the center of the substrate 6 than this contact part 70b' and the recording medium D due to the contact of this contact part 70b' with the recording medium D.
