PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic heater having a superior durability, in which a high stress does not occur in an exothermic body, in the ceramic heater used for heating an oxygen sensor or the like. SOLUTION: In the ceramic heater comprised by embedding an exothermic body 8 including platinum and tungsten inside a ceramic insulation substrate, a conductor layer 6 in which the heat expansion coefficient is close to that of the exothermic body 8, and especially the difference of the heat expansion coefficient is 2×10<SP>-6</SP>/°C or less is embedded inside the ceramic insulation substratum body on the upper side and/or the lower side of the exothermic body 8.
