PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for displaying an image, which is of a dry type, has high response speed, has a simple structure and further is excellent in stability and sharpness and a method therefor. SOLUTION: Particles having mutually different charging characteristics are sealed in a space between two transparent substrates equipped with a backlight, a color filter and two pairs of electrodes.
