Reagents which regulate human calcium-independent alpha-latrotoxin-like G protein-coupled receptor (CIRL) and reagents which bind to human CIRL gene products can play a role in preventing, ameliorating, or correcting dysfunctions or diseases associated with aberrant exocytosis in both the endocrine system and the nervous system.
