METHOD OF STERILISING REUSABLE MEDICAL DEVICES

The invention relates to a method of sterilising a reusable medical device. The inventive method is characterised in that it comprises all of the following steps: a first step (a) in which the device used is pre-disinfected, by treating said device with a disinfectant solution and, subsequently, rinsing same in order to remove the solution; a step (b) whereby the device, which was pre-disinfected during step a, is washed, by cleaning said device with a detergent solution which may also be a disinfectant, rinsing and drying same; a step (c) whereby the device which was washed during step b is conditioned; a step (d) in which the device conditioned in step c is sterilised; and a step (e) whereby the device sterilised in step d is released, said step comprising the sterilisation being validated. The method is characterised in that: the pre-disinfection step (a) is started at the site (A) where the device is used and finished at a site (B) which is physically separate from site A; steps b and c are carried out at site B; and steps d and e are carried out at a site C, which is physically separate from sites A and B. The invention also relates to the installation used to carry out the inventive method.
