Solutions of lead salts are obtained from old accumulator plates by piling the positive and negative plates and treating them with an acid the lead salt of which is readily soluble. Specified acids are acetic, fluosilicic, fluoboric, and perchloric acids. The treatment may be effected on the counter-current principle using a series of tanks. |
