It is assured that any non-contact IC card allows up to eight blocks of information, which is the maximum write size at a time, to be written therein, where one block is 16 bytes as unit of reading/writing information. An arrangement of TOC (Table Of Contents) is built in the memory space of the card. When information, the size of which is beyond the maximum write size at a time, is written, a single transaction enables an associated rewriting of TOC, whereby even when the card is rejected from a writing device during a course of writing, the contents of the memory will not be destroyed. Even when data, the size of which is beyond a predetermined value, is written and the communication between devices is disconnected at any timing, an excellent data consistency can be ensured.
|
