The invention relates to a device for suppressing the radio-interference of an electric commutator, in particular a direct current motor (10). Said device comprises a rotor (12) that is supplied with current by means of brushes (14a, b) and a suppression circuit (16), which has at least one capacitor and additional components. The invention is characterised in that one side of the suppression circuit (16) is provided with a suppression ring (24) consisting of individual suppression elements (56), the latter comprising at least one varistor (28) and/or at least one capacitor (30) and co-operating with at least one additional external suppression capacitor. The individual suppression elements (56) of the suppression ring (24) either lie between adjacent plates (32) of the commutator (34), or are connected to a plate (32) by means of a connection and are interlinked by means of a respective second connection to form a virtual zero point (33).
