Electronic protection against the permutation of exhaust gas sensors in an internal combustion engine with exhaust gas after-treatment, in particular on a motor vehicle

The process to protect against mixing up of two measuring probes in a waste gas aftertreatment system for a motor vehicle engine digitizes voltage signals from the probes, stores and compares them with characteristic values to test for an exchange and exchanges the values if necessary and stores them again. Independent claims are also included for a circuit for installation-exchange protection of at least two measuring sensors configured to record at least one of physical and chemical variables of an exhaust gas of a system for exhaust-gas aftertreatment in an internal combustion engine; and a control unit for the above process.
