METHOD FOR ADJUSTING TRACK BIAS IN OPTICAL PICKUP

PURPOSE: A method for adjusting track bias in an optical pickup is provided to variably move a position of an objective lens to a recording surface of an optical disk in a horizontal direction, thereby compensating distortion of an optical axis generated by physical distortion of the optical pickup in manufacturing or mounting the optical pickup. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer(60) detects and stores a jitter component of each RF(Radio Frequency) signal by alternating and adjusting a plurality of track bias values in order. The microcomputer compares the stored jitter components of the RF signals for selecting a random track bias value of which jitter component is the smallest among the stored jitter components. The microcomputer additionally compensates a track bias offset value corresponding to the size of a jitter of an RF signal detected after applying the track bias value.
