Positions for gearshift and operating status for a motor vehicle drive engine can be detected and gearshift can be operated. A clutch device shifts into different gear positions to operate controllable devices. A measuring/control device picks up input signals from sensors detecting clutch operations and transmits output signals to move the clutch device/automatic gearbox into a pre-determined gearshift according to pre-determined characteristics. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a motor vehicle with an electrically triggered automatic gearbox and an electrically triggered clutch device.
