<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive recording material with high whiteness, excellent color developing sensitivity, high color developing density and excellent storage stability of a color-developed image. <P>SOLUTION: In the heat-sensitive recording material comprising an electron- donating color developing compound and an electron-accepting compound, the heat-sensitive recording material is characterized by comprising bis(4- hydroxyphenyl) sulfoxides of formula (1) (wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group) as the electron-accepting compound. The heat-sensitive recording material exhibits high whiteness, excellent color developing density and excellent storage stability (water-vapor resistance, heat resistance and light-resistance) of the color-developed image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
